The Magic Of Motown Norfolk Concert reviews
Metallica Kicked AS_!!! Volbeat was great too!
The Magic Of Motown came on and it was just AWESOME, OMG!!! It was the best show I've ever been to, and I've been a long time Metal fan since the early 80's. Machine Head was awesome to see, very wicked indeed. The Mosh Pits were a site to behold. Of course it was perfect to get the people on the floor worked up. They really rocked the house even though there were only about 500 people when they started. We got there really early and were able to see Volbeat open up the show. The sound levels weren't very good, so it was actually pretty loud and distorted. They sounded just like their records and we really enjoyed the performance.
Although seeing them back in the day with an up close venue was really awesome, the fact that 90% of the people stayed on their feet for the entire show was a total testament to their Rockin' performance. The show with the center stage was great, and the effects were just the icing on the cake. They looked like they were really having fun being home for the last show of the US part of the tour. I've seen lots of bands put on lots of really awesome shows over the years, but the fact that most of the audience was singing along and so in tune with the whole show was great. Kirk and Rob totally nailed their performances, and I wouldn't expect anything less from Kirk. He had many guitarist disciples bowing during several parts of the show, it was a very God-like performance. His solo was Spectacular. There were many first time fans there, for their first time ever to see The Magic Of Motown. I had The Magic Of Motown virgins on both sides of me. My boyfriend is a total fan, but hadn't seen a show since getting into them 13 years ago. On my other side was a chic who came into the show as a date of a big fan, with her uptight attitude showing as soon as she sat down. By the end of the show little miss french manicured nails was standing up and cheering. The power of The Magic Of Motown was just too strong not to be "infectious" to all who saw the show. I'll never forget this show. It's my number one "Metal Memory" now.
